HIB HELP

Anti-bullying and Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) advocacy is essential for fostering a safer and more inclusive society. By raising awareness, educating communities, and providing resources, we can empower individuals to stand against bullying and create positive change. Advocating for anti-bullying initiatives involves spreading impactful messages, supporting victims, and implementing programs that promote kindness, respect, and empathy. This advocacy means effectively communicating its importance through campaigns, workshops, and partnerships with schools, workplaces, and organizations. By championing this cause, we contribute to a culture where everyone feels valued, safe, and supported, ultimately leading to a more compassionate and just society.

Darby was my son’s behavioral therapist in the recent past, and she rapidly established a strong connection with Leonardo. I observed an extraordinary level of engagement between my son and Darby, which reflected her profound understanding of his needs. When I shared concerns about the school, Darby proposed accompanying me to the IEP meeting to advocate for my son’s placement out of district, drawing upon her extensive knowledge of relevant rules and regulations. Her expertise revealed the school’s neglect of my son’s needs, and I appreciate her guidance. Darby’s advocacy was instrumental in securing my son’s out-of-district placement, and I am thankful for her tireless efforts. Her presence at the IEP meeting empowered me with confidence, which I would not have possessed without her support. I am deeply grateful for Darby’s unwavering commitment to helping my son access essential evaluations and support that had been lacking for years.

 Sincerely,

Gabrielle R.

All too often I see districts attempting to accommodate children with ASD in general education classes with a group pull out method that is ineffective for the child. The district does this I suppose in an effort to save their funds for something else. Not okay. Those are citizen funds.

It is still extremely upsetting even after all this time to receive phone calls about children who are diagnosed with mental health issues who are being refused evaluations by school districts. Yet the district will harass the parents when the child acts out.

Preparing for a busy day...at EEA we are happy to assist parents of children who are victims of bullying. Too many times I have experienced the administration blaming the victim. That will not be tolerated at Empower Educational Advocates. Make it a great day!
